VICTORY!! Congratulations to everyone that worked
on the
District Map for Deschutes County.
Dear Fellow Republicans,
Today, the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) held the final hearing on the County District Map. Commissioners Tony DeBone and Patti Adair voted to send the map to the voters in November 2026, while Commissioner Phil Chang voted against allowing the voters to decide.
Our success was due in large part to the many Deschutes County citizens who attended DMAC and BOCC meetings and testified at over 14 different hearings regarding the map. This was a hard-fought victory that required countless hours of planning, information sharing, and grassroots communication to ensure the facts were heard.
The opposition argued that the proposed map was drawn to provide an unfair political advantage, labeling it as "Gerrymandering." However, each time these claims were made, we countered with factual data from our County Clerk that proved those assertions wrong.
Now, the voters of Deschutes County will participate in a historic nonpartisan election. Every registered voter will have the opportunity to choose how they want to be represented in our county.
Let the voters decide!
Best regards,
Deschutes Chair, Keith Rockow
