We must remain vigilant to ensure our representatives represent We The People and abide by constitutional and common sense values.
There are tax districts on your Property Tax Bill (in the red box)!
What Tax Districts are on YOUR Property Tax bill? (Pull it out, make a copy, put it in a sheet protector, save it for reference?)
These Tax Districts should be on your ballots also, for a Special (Tax) Districts election (in odd years).
These Tax Districts ALL have a Board of an odd number of people. (So there are no "ties" when voting.)
Their terms leap frog each other! Part are elected one election, part are elected the next! (Their terms should be listed on their websites!)
These people are spending your tax dollars $$$!
These people are representing you! Do they ACTUALLY represent YOU?
They ALL need watching!
ON the Ballot?
These Tax District Board members should be ON your ballot, over time. Part one election, part another election (in odd years).
Are they there? Did you vote?
Was your ballot designed correctly? Did your ballot leave something out that you should be voting for? If you have ballot questions, call the County Clerk!
Example: The Deschutes Library board is not being watched. They put a Tax Bond on the ballot that won!
Now we have a gold plated huge new library on 27th St. in Bend! The Ds have control of this board! We need to watch them!

1 seat is vacant presently! (Anyone want to figure out how we can get an R appointed to this board?) [May. 2026]
See there are 2 "classes" of Board members with different "term expires" dates? This is so they can "leap frog" their terms.

Attending (online or in-person) and participating in your local community meetings is extremely important in keeping our leaders accountable.
"We the People" are the watchdog on these Tax Districts and Committees!
Additionally, we want to support our brave Republican leaders in these roles.
Please develop a personal relationship with our R leaders. (Take friends with you and make a fun evening out of it! Dessert anyone?)
