2. Depending on the person(s) doing the work, they can go very fast. They have a lot of work to do.

After Election Day (11/8), the Deschutes County Clerk still engages in certain counts/audits. It's important for Election Observers be present for these. The day and time these post-elections counts are done is dependent on the work schedule at the Clerk's office and the scheduling is at the Clerk's discretion. Typically, we will only have 1-2 days notice. By Monday, December 5^th our County Clerk must certify the Deschutes County election results to the Secretary of State. That is the Finish line.

Recounts – There may be recounts if the race results are less than two percent apart or if a candidate pays for a recount. When they are done depends on the work schedule at the Clerk’s office. We will have 1-2 days notice.

Risk Limited Audit –The Secretary of State (SOS) selects which precinct and which race for a hand recount to audit the computer results. When they are done depends on the work schedule at the Clerk’s office. We will have 1-2 days notice.

Adjudication – Judging the voter intent on ballots with problems. This includes regular races and write-ins. When they are done depends on the work schedule at the Clerk’s office. We will have 1-2 days notice.

• We need two Republicans for each observer slot for about two hours each.
• You’ll need to bring a notepad and pen to take notes as needed.
