Newspapers and online web sites provide an opportunity to learn about issues that affect us in many ways. Local and state media are listed below:
The Bulletin (Bend) is the major newspaper in
Central Oregon. Send letters to the Editor to bulletin@bendbulletin.com. There is a 250-word limit on letters for
publication, but "In My View" articles up to 750 words may also be
accepted.
The Source Weekly publishes articles dealing with
local issues, arts, sports and entertainment. Send letters to the Editor
to letters@tsweekly.com. Letters under 600 words are preferred.
The Redmond Spokesman (Redmond) is a weekly newspaper
dealing with mostly local issues. Send letters to the Editor to spokesman@bendnet.com. Letters should be limited to 300 words.
Opinion articles in the 600 to 700-word range may be accepted for publication.
Bend.com is an on-line news service that is
partnered with the Bend Bugle newspaper. Bend.com offers registered users
opportunities to discuss on-line articles.
The Sisters Nugget (Sisters) is a weekly newspaper serving western Deschutes County dealing with local issues. Send letters to the Editor to editor@nuggetnews.com.
The Oregonian (Portland) is the major newspaper in Oregon and
is published in Portland. Send letters to letters@news.oregonian.com. Letters are usually limited to 150 words for
publication. There is a maximum of 600 words for opinion pieces.
The Statesman-Journal (Salem) is another major newspaper
in Oregon. It is published in Salem. Letters to the Editor may be
sent to letters@statesmanjournal.com but are rarely published if sent from addresses
outside the Salem area.
