TIME TO SAY "THANK YOU"!
THANKS TO GORDON SMITH, CHUCK BURLEY, AND MIKE DALY ARE IN ORDER!
We all need to say “thanks” to Gordon Smith, Chuck Burley, and Mike Daly for their service on our behalf. Sure, there are benefits to be gained by being an “elected representative”. Sure, you get that nice, warm feeling of power and influence every once in awhile. Sure, it’s fun to have people saying how great you are. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t enjoy some of this.
But there’s a downside or two, too. As we’ve all just witnessed, you have to put up with a lot of nosy prying into private affairs, sharp and critical attacks on what you are doing (or not doing), never being able to relax and put your job out of mind. None of this has been pleasant.
So, thanks, gentlemen. We appreciate your service in our behalf. We wish you all the best in the future.
We’re saying this now, on the Web. Hopefully, all reading this will add their thanks in person or via a letter or phone call.
We have been proud to have had you as our representatives. We won’t forget. We say “thanks”.
